Vet chroma™ Canine NT-proBNP is a Fluorescence Immunoassay (FIA) for the quantitative determination of NT-proBNP in Canine serum / plasma. pro-BNP is synthesized at cardiomyocytes, and processed to make activated form (BNP) and inactive form (NT-proBNP). BNP and NT-proBNP are secreted from cardiomyocytes in the heart ventricles, in response to stretching caused by increased left ventricular blood volume. BNP and NT-proBNP test is useful for the diagnosis and management of heart failure.
